And its use doesn't limit itself to just Painter mind you! Though it's easier to get add your work in Designer directly into Painter. Which should be obvious: texturing is not a primary feature of ZBrush, it's quite capable - don't get me wrong - but Painter provides a heck more features and options for this.ĭesigner then can be used to create ("design") textures, material settings as well as whole 3D models. PolyPaint is an amazing feature, but it just can't stand up to what you can pull off in Painter. The longer version: While ZBrush is an awesome program it doesn't fully excel at everything. Texturing 3D meshes in Painter and creating materials and textures in Designer for that. The short version: to help support my work in Daz Studio, basically the same reason I use ZBrush. I'd keep my eyes on this one for the next 3 - 5 years and in the mean time happily enjoying the fruits of Pixologic who were truly WAY ahead of their time. They did it before: their Photoshop Elements for example. in 3 years time? Adobe seems pretty dedicated to Steam and perpetual. Though I am sure that they're going to try and annoy us: how long until we can no longer use GoZ between ZBrush and our favorite programs?īut even then. Sure I'm kinda bummed but at the same time I am a WHOLE lot more happy that I grabbed my ZBrush license during the "good times" (I paid Pixologic) when I could. And this ladies and gentlemen is why you should always make sure that whatever software you're purchasing (well, its license) is fully to your needs and you don't secretly hope for "more".
